The findings and recommendations of the Committee so far are contained in its 2018 Report and ILA Resolutions 5/2018 and 6/2018, adopted by the ILA at its 78th Biennial Conference, held in Sydney in 2018. With its meeting in Madrid on 10 December 2019, the ILA Committee has proceeded with the second stage of its work, involving the study of international law issues prompted by the mid- and longer-term predictions of sea level rise, including those related to the law of the sea and territory as well as to the rights of the affected population, but also the study of statehood and international law personality questions, and other related issues of international law and international security. The session will offer an opportunity to discuss these and other issues with the Committee members.
